History Of Toronto International Film Festival

 The film festival was founded in 1976 as the Festival of Festivals. The aim was to screen movies from other film festivals. Today TIFF is one of the world’s largest annual showcases of films. In 1995, the Festival of Festivals was renamed as Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).  

 Because of its vast contribution to the culture and economy of Toronto, the TIFF has earned its long-lasting reputation as a leader in the international film community.
