The Huron Natural Area is located in south Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. It is a beautiful 107-hectare park for nature lovers, photographers, and trail walkers. It has many forest trails around a spring-fed pond.  This Area is more than 250 acres of protected forest and wetland. It is one of Kitchener’s largest natural spaces, with lots of trails to explore. It has hiking trails, a natural playground, and awesome nature to explore. Huron Natural Area is a joint venture between the City of Kitchener, the Waterloo Region District School Board, and the Waterloo Catholic District School Board.

  • It is Kitchener’s largest and most valuable natural space, having wetlands, forests, meadows, and significant species of plants. Here you can explore the city’s only cold water streams, the Strasburg Creek. 
  • It is the perfect place to go hiking in Kitchener with the whole family. It is a paradise for hikers and joggers with scenic hiking trails, and boardwalks. These trails are amazing for beginner hikers. 
  • The park also has a natural playscape, especially for kids. This playground encourages kids to explore the custom-designed log play elements.

  • Huron and Woodland Trail Loop is a 4.8 km loop trail, offering a number of activity options and a beautiful lake. All the paths along the trail are well marked.
